KAIZER Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter says German Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have approached them, offering unsettled Zimbabwe international striker Knowledge Musona ahead of the January transfer window.
Chiefs’ intentions to bring Musona back at the beginning of the season fell through due to contractual disagreements.
“They (Hoffenheim) have come back again to us and they are asking if we are still interested.
“Well, the window is opening and we will reassess it and if the deal is good for Kaizer Chiefs then we will do it,” Baxter was quoted saying in the South African media.
Musona has been frozen out at Hoffenheim, while Chiefs have left one foreign spot open with the aim of using it to bring in the 24-year-old striker in January if the deal works out.
The Zimbabwena has recovered from an ankle injury that he picked up while on loan at Chiefs last season and though he prefers to continue in Europe, it is likely that Amakhosi will provide a good platform to get his career back in motion again.
Chiefs are aware of the need to strengthen their squad in attack as goals have not been coming from their front runners.
