TIIMOTY January became the first player to score four goals this season as How Mine massacred Hwahwa 6-0 at Barbourfields on Saturday in a Castle Premiership match.
The unheralded attacker struck in the 7th, 30th, 58th and 70th minutes to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Thabani Masawi (then Highlanders) and Cuthbert Malajila (then Chapungu) to score four goals in a single match.
Veteran striker Limited Chikafa netted twice in the 17th and 34th minute.
In Harare, ZPC Kariba coach Saul Chaminuka admitted the constant travels between the resort town and Gwanzura were beginning to take its toll on his players as they settled for a 1-1 draw against Flame Lily on Saturday.
Their stadium, Nyamhunga, is nearing completion and is due for inspection this week by the Zifa Grounds Committee.
In other matches on Sunday, Buffaloes beat Chapungu 2-0 at Sakubva Stadium for their first win of the season via goals from Kudzanai Matongo after two minutes and Kastigu Juwakinyu in the 12th minute.
At Gibbo, Triangle led after 28th minutes through Cabby Kamhapa before Tino Kadewere made it 1-1 for Harare City on the stroke of halftime.
But Triangle turned on the power with Richard Kawondera pouncing on a Themba Ndlovu error to make it 2-1 before Hillary Bakacheza added the third in the 88th minute to seal victory for Kelvin Kaindu’s men.
Hwange and Dongo played out an exciting 2-2 draw at the Colliery as the hosts were saved from an embarrassing home defeat by a late Evans Rusike equaliser.
Rusike had given them the equaliser in the 47th minute when Dongo were 1-0 up.
