ZIMBABWE international striker Nyasha Mushekwi continued his goal scoring spree in the Chinese Super League after firing a brace as his club Dalian Yifang secured a 2-1 win over Shanghai Shenhua.
The 31 year-old forward struck the opener in the 12th minute but Shanghai Shenhua equalised 19-year-old Chinese striker Ruofan Liu shortly after the hour mark.
Mushekwi however ensured Dalian Yifang secured all three points when he completed his brace five minutes before fulltime to take his season’s tally to an impressive 12 goals in 15 games.
The result also ensured inform Dalian Yifang continued their resurgence after a woeful start to the season after rising to eighth position on the log with 29 points from 23 matches.
The Zimbabwean was immediately withdrawn after scoring the winner.
Mushekwi recently pulled out of the Warriors AFCON qualifier against the Congo citing an injury but continues to turn out for the Chinese side.
In fact Mushekwi looks set to miss the upcoming back to back Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers against DRC after it emerged he is currently playing for his side while carrying an injury.
The former CAPS United and Mamelodi Sundowns striker recently revealed that he needed to take painkillers to play feature for his side this season.
The Warriors technical department is expected to name the squad to prepare for the DRC ties this week.
