CAPS UNITED president Farai Jere boasted after his team’s 1-0 victory over Dynamos that he would have loved to beat their arch rivals with all their players in.
Dynamos missed chief striker Christian Epoupa, midfielder Tichaona Chipunza and defender Lincoln Zvasiya all to suspension.
Dominic Chungwa, who missed the reverse fixture due to suspension, made the difference twenty two minutes from full time to exert revenge for the defeat Caps United suffered three weeks ago.
“I would have loved to beat them with Christian Epoupa and all their players in. It’s unfortunate that they were suspended but we were really prepared for this match and wanted a full strength Dynamos,” said Jere.
“We missed Chungwa the last time and he showed that he is a player for big matches. I am more than excited with this victory because Dynamos are our biggest rivals and no win is sweeter than this one,” he added.
Chungwa was pampered with wards of cash by jubilant supporters at the end of the game.
The stocky striker was the hero again last season scoring the solitary goal at the same venue which ended a seven year dominance by Dynamos.
The win catapulted Caps United into seventh position with 35 points while Dynamos remained on third position, two points behind log leaders Chicken Inn.
