EXILED former higher education minister Professor Jonathan Moyo has called on the international community to impose sanctions against President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s regime.
Moyo said the sanctions are necessary in the work of the killing of six people as violence rocked Harare after the announcement of the July 30 election results.
The fatalities occurred after soldiers swooped into central Harare shooting at protestors demonstrating against Mnangagwa’s victory in the presidential ballot.
Writing on Twitter Thursday, Prof Moyo said;
It has to be said quite clearly without any equivocation, fear or favour that sanctions should be imposed on the military govt in Zimbabwe by Sadc, AU, UN & the international community at large for deploying the Army to kill in cold blood, unarmed fleeing civilians on 1 August!

The former Zanu PF politician added;
Soldiers like @MinisterSBMoyo & politicians like @edmnangagwa have participated in atrocities since 1980 in Zimbabwe & other countries such as #DRC with impunity; always blaming the victims; lying through their teeth & getting away with it. Their latest atrocity was on 1 August!
