HIGHLANDERS coach Kelvin Kaindu is staying positive despite last Saturday’s 4-1 loss to Dynamos in the TM Pick n Pay Challenge Cup.
It was Highlanders’ fourth loss to Dynamos this year.
The result saw the Bulawayo giants fail to break Dynamos’ supremacy which has reined since the 2011 Independence Trophy when they last beat the Harare giants.
On the league front, it is now eight years since they beat Dynamos.
After Saturday’s loss, pressure mounted more on Kaindu from impatient Highlanders fans who are increasingly being incensed by Dynamos’ dominance.
But the Zambian gaffer has worn a brave face, insisting Highlanders are still a force that can dominate the local game.
“We can still win the Chibuku Super Cup. There is also the league title to play for and we have a good chance to win it,” Kaindu said.
“We cannot be ruled out because we have potential in the team. I am very thankful for the fans’ support and that is what we need at this stage of the season. We will always continue doing our best to make the Highlanders family happy.”
With eight games to go before the league race ends, Highlanders are three points behind leaders Dynamos on the log where they are on second place.
