KAIZER Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande has declared himself fit and ready for action ahead of the second-half of the PSL season.
The Zimbabwe international has been one of Amakhosi’s standout players so far this term, having played a key role in the side’s unbeaten start to the Premiership campaign.
However, he missed the final two games of 2014 after picking up an abdominal injury in the 1-0 win over Chippa United in December.
But, following some time off over the festive period, Katsande is now back to full fitness and eyeing a return to action when the league resumes in February.
“I’m feeling great at the moment, pain-free,” he said. “I have fully recovered and should be available [to play] when the season resumes.
“I will be training with the rest of the squad and working on my match fitness, so I should be ready when the games resume.”
Katsande had featured in all of Chiefs’ 16 league matches prior to his injury, although he admits the knock came as a blessing in disguise.
“This injury has been a positive thing as it gave me the opportunity to take a breather,” he said.
“It has created that hunger of playing again and I’m really looking forward to the next game (against Bloemfontein Celtic on February 11).”
