Karuru likely to stay at Kaizer Chiefs under new coach

ZIMBABWEAN midfielder Ovidy Karuru is now likely to stay on at Kaizer Chiefs after swaying Steve Komphela into considering him for his plans for the new season.
Chiefs announced in June that Karuru will be made available for a loan move away from the club along with four other players Simphiwe Mtsweni, Levy Mokgothu, Chris Matombo and Zitha Macheke.
Matombo and Macheke have since moved to Chippa, while left-backs Mtsweni and Mokgothu are out for the picture.
But Karuru has quietly charmed his way on to the substitutes bench for the two official matches against Maritzburg United and Chippa United that Chiefs have played to date, giving a strong signal that Komphela has him in his plans.
KickOff.com has been told that Komphela appreciates Karuru’s qualities and appears likely to give him far more game-time this season than he was afforded last season.
Last season Karuru made three appearances in his first year in the PSL after arriving from Belgium.Advertisement
