SOUTH Africa: Kaizer Chiefs strongman Willard Katsande has challenged the club’s youngsters to make their mark at Naturena and avoid being labelled a flop.
Katsande, a tireless operator in midfield, has racked up over 200 appearances for Chiefs since joining them from Ajax Cape Town in 2011.
Amakhosi recently promoted a number of players from their MultiChoice Diski Challenge side such as Wiseman Meyiwa, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Yusuf Bunting.
And Katsande has made it clear hard work and hunger is necessary to make the step up in competition at the Soweto giants.
He said: “Obviously we tell them: ‘Do you want to be remembered as a flop? Do you want to be remembered as a bad player or do you want to be remembered as a good player?’
“This is the time to put in so much hard work. Every time you play show that you are determined, show that commitment.
“So it’s always important to stay hungry because it will push you from a comfort zone to wanting to achieve more and more.
“So we always tell the upcoming stars to stay long in the game, especially under the name of Kaizer Chiefs.”
