SOUTH Africa: New Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas is under pressure to end the Soweto giants’ unprecedented three-year trophy drought.
While Amakhosi thumped Free State Stars 3-0 to set up a MTN8 semi-final first leg with SuperSport United at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday, they are a lowly 12th on the league table with three points from four games, having netted thrice.
Katsande is determined to help the club overcome their challenges.

“As the senior players it is a mental game, whereby sometimes you play a team which is there to play with your mind to frustrate you,” Katsande said after the Glamour Boys’ recent goalless draw with ten-man Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium.
“It’s about how you rub off the mental strength to the young ones, how to put their feet on the ground and to keep on performing. Sometimes in a long journey there’s some curves, potholes, so it’s how you overcome them.
“I think we are in a good process. If you could see the young ones are enjoying their football. But to win a match you need to score goals, so we just need to go back to the drawing board with the young ones and tell them that, ‘You know what, let us not put our heads down, we just need to keep our heads up and keep on going’.
“I think once we start scoring goals everything will change and we’ll be talking a different story altogether.”
