Katsande relishing Kaizer Chiefs role

KAIZER Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande believes he has improved remarkably from last season, and is delighted to have started receiving credit for his hard work.
The defensive stalwart has featured in all but one of Amakhosi’s PSL matches this season, while picking up numerous man of the match awards following some barnstorming performances in front of the back-four.
The Zimbabwe international is eager to continue growing as a player, but admits he is savouring his current form with the Glamour Boys.
“Compared to last season, I think there is a little bit of improvement,” he told Football411 in an exclusive interview.
“Last season I played a total of 21 matches in the league and this season already I’m on 25, and we still have five more matches to go.
“It shows I’ve been going well, the coach is showing faith in me and I couldn’t be happier.
“As a defensive midfielder, it is natural that I have to be hard, because you do not want to find yourself in a situation where your defence is under pressure because you are not doing your job.”
He added: “People will always talk; football is a game of opinions anyway.
“I believe people are talking because they are starting to appreciate my hard work.
“All season long, I’ve never been sent off or suspended so that tells you something about those who say I am rough player.
“But also you must be able to differentiate between rough and tough.”
