When Simo Munawa was brought down in the box on the half hour, Diya took the honours to beat his opposite number Max Nyamunenndengu.
Diya then scored the winner in the penalty shootout to cap a fine man of the match performance. Highlanders converted all their spot kicks through Mthulisi Maphosa, Bheki Ncube, who had also scored in normal time, evergreen Bruce Kangwa Njabulo Ncube and Diya.
