Kudakwashe Mahachi happy having made Golden Arrows return

SOUTH Africa: Golden Arrows midfielder Kudakwashe Mahachi feels he was justified in returning to Golden Arrows again this season as his priority has always been to get as much game time as possible.
Mahachi moved back to Arrows at the beginning of this season from Mamelodi Sundowns following the mystery of how he had initially made the same switch from The Brazilians outside the transfer window last year.
The exciting attacking midfielder was the subject of interest from Kaizer Chiefs during the winter break as his contractual standing remained clandestine but the moment he returned to Chloorkop that deal fell through and he eventually found his way back to Durban.
“I attach importance to playing,” he says. “So it made sense that I go back to Arrows because I had a good time there last season, enjoyed the way the club plays football and I was involved.
“How do I establish myself the way I want to when I am not playing? You have to understand that I enjoy being in a space where I am playing football regularly because I am a competitor. It didn’t happen in my first year at Sundowns which is why I then had to leave. Honestly speaking I think I was justified in returning to Arrows. If ever anything related to a move is to happen in future it will happen after I have done a job for Arrows.”
The Zimbabwean was a bright spark last season for Arrows but has been limited to just a single appearance so far this season due to a fractured hand sustained while on international duty six weeks ago.
Mahachi will however be back available for selection when domestic football resumes after the end of the FIFA international break and will also be certain to play against Orlando Pirates in the first round of the Telkom Knockout cup.
“Firstly, we have to make sure that ‘Fire’ doesn’t score a hat-trick again,” he says in reference to his close friend and countryman Tendai Ndoro who slammed home three the last time the two teams met in August.
“It is always those kind of matches for which you don’t need to be motivated because you know players are always up for it. We have started off well in the league and I just hope by the time this game is played we will still be carrying that has seen us gather 10 points from the last four games.”
