Limping Harare City face Dynamos

Spread This News

HARARE City, staggering from one defeat to another, date champions Dynamos in a must win Castle Lager premiership tie at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Bigboy Mawiwi’s men had a miserable start to the 2014 campaign, suffering three successive defeats in three matches amid alleged reports that the team was being sabotaged by a member of the team executive.
The Sunshine City Boys fell to Chicken Inn in their opening match, before Harare giants Caps United, the team which denied them the championship last season handed them a 2-1 defeat.
And Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to newcomers ZPC has not been welcomed by the club hierachy which is reported to be holding a series of meetings to discuss the future of the coach.
Mawiwi however remains upbeat saying the team will rise.
“We have got challenges like in any other team. We have not been playing well,” he said.
“There are reasons for this performance which I cannot discuss with the media but what is certain is the team will bounce back to winning ways.
“It’s only three games in the campaign. We have got great respect for Dynamos because they are champions but we will try to give it our best,” said Mawiwi.
Dynamos who suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to premiership new boys ZPC Kariba were also beaten to the Independence Trophy by FC Platinum but recovered to beat Bantu Rovers on Easter Monday. That has given confidence as they face off limping Harare City.
