WARRIORS coach Ian Gorowa will use home based players for the dead rubber 2014 world cup qualifier against Mozambique on September 8.
Gorowa said on Monday he would use the locally based players for the match against Mozambique as he seeks to build a strong squad ahead of the African Nations Championships( CHAN) to be held in South Africa next year.
The home based players defeated old foe Zambia in the final qualifying round of the CHAN tournament at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday to earn a place at the finals in South Africa in January.
FC Platinum forward Charles Sibanda scored the only goal of the match that counted for Zimbabwe to earn a table at the biennial continental tournament in which only home based players compete.
Gorowa has however, added Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande as the only foreign based player that will feature in the World Cup qualifier against Mozambique.
Katsande was previously overlooked by former Zimbabwe coach Klaus Dieter Pagels.
The Warriors will also play South Africa and club side Mamelodi Sundowns in September. Gorowa hopes to use players playing in the South African Premier League for those fixtures.Advertisement
