Mahachi: South Africa PSL defenders slow

MAMELODI Mamelodi Sundowns winger Kudakwashe Mahachi believes settling into the Premier Soccer League won’t be tough because the defenders here ‘are too slow’.
The Zimbabwean international joined the Brazilians at the start of the season, but is yet to really win coach Pitso Mosimane over, having made five appearances, but only one of them from the start.
But the 21-year-old feels it’s only a matter of time before he settles down and lives up to the huge expectations.
“This is my first year in the PSL; I need to adjust and work hard to get into the team on a regular basis,” Mahachi says in the latest edition of KICK OFF magazine.
“But I don’t think settling into this League will be difficult. PSL defenders are good, but they are too slow. The pace here is not as fast as in Zimbabwe.
“In Zimbabwe the defenders are fast and also kick. Here football is more tactical.”
Mahachi will have a chance to run at some of the ‘slow’ PSL defenders when Sundowns host Free State Stars in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.
