FORMER Warriors and Orlando Pirates defender Zvenyika Makonese has been told to stop training with How Mine by coach Philani Ncube.
The 36-year-old defender trained with How Mine for two days and was on Friday told that he was surplus to requirements.
He was absent from the group that did some jogging at Ascot Race Course on Saturday morning.
He was trying to fit himself into a squad that already has veteran defenders Hebert Dick, Gilbert Banda, George Magariro and Nyasha Mukumbi.
“Zvenyika is a very experienced player but unfortunately for him we now have enough defenders. As a senior player he has understood our position. We wish him well in his career,” Ncube said.
He trained with relegated Tripple B late last season and has expressed interest to join Triangle in his hometown of Chiredzi.
Ncube is also assessing former Dynamos midfielder Benjamin Marere who is also training with the team and is likely to be offered a contract.
Before stopping at How Mine, Marere had trained with Highlanders but nothing came out of the training stint.Advertisement
