TELEVISION personality and former Big Brother UK housemate Makosi Musambasi is set to host a one-day conference dubbed the Sisters Keepers Conference later this month at Celebration Centre in Harare.
The conference is aimed at creating female leaders and an impressive line-up of decorated local and regional speakers is billed to share strategies and testimonies at the conference.
The idea of the conference is to create a platform for women from diverse background which would achieve their dreams and defy the patriarchal constraints in society.
At least 400 women are expected to attend.
The Conference is being organised by Makosi through her philanthropic organisation called Sisters Keepers Foundation.
The organisation is a registered trust whose mandate is to empower underprivileged women.
It sources and distributes sanitary pads to under privileged communities and early this year donated a large consignment of pads to women in Tokwe Mukosi and blankets to the maternity wing of Edith Opperman Clinic in Mbare
The conference will be running under the theme “How to turn lemons in lemonade”.
Makosi explained: “The mission of this first annual conference of ‘Be Your Sister’s Keeper’ is to empower women to excel and reach their maximum potential through mentors within and outside the borders of Zimbabwe.”
The event is free to attend although pre-registration is required and women and men from all walks of life are encouraged to attend.
Speakers expected to grace the conference include Harare Pastor Evan Mawarire from His Generation Church, Ignatius Munengwa a motivational speaker with the Dream Big Project, Tendai Garwe a prominent women’s rights activist with Women’s Trust Zimbabwe and Nyari Mashayamombe the Founder of Tag A Life Foundation.
Bible School graduate Makosi is also expected to fly into the country and take to the podium at the conference.
This will be her maiden presentation in Zimbabwe after she graduated from Winners Chapel Bible School in Nigeria.
Live entertainment will be provided by Prayersoul Mtamangira and Tinashe Makura.Advertisement
