Mangwiro braces for another derby

THE NetOne One Wallet Cup quarterfinal draw did not come as a surprise for Caps United coach Taurai Mangwiro whose side was paired with fierce city rivals Dynamos.
The Harare giants square off again inside seven days in another Harare derby on Sunday after they drew 1-1 in a league match last weekend.
It would be their third meeting of the season after Caps United beat Dynamos 1-0 in a ZNA Charity Shield semi-final match in May to break a five-year jinx that had seen them failing to beat Dynamos.
Mangwiro does not mind meeting his former club which he served as a player.
“We were expecting to be drawn with any team and we did not mind playing Dynamos either. This was a draw and anything was bound to happen,” Mangwiro said.
“You should always be ready to play any team in football. We cannot choose opponents for ourselves but just gear up for anyone.
“I hope for another good derby that will be enjoyed by everyone. We are preparing very hard and hopefully it will be a win for us.”
The two teams lived up to expectations with entertaining football in last Sunday’s derby match which ended in a stalemate.Advertisement
