FC PLATINUM coach Norman Mapeza says he will be spoilt for choice as he tries to come up with the final squad to face Kenyan outfit Sofapaka.
The two sides meet in the second leg of the Caf Confederation Cup preliminary round tie at Mandava on Saturday.
Mapeza’s men go into the match carrying a 2-1 lead from the first leg of the preliminary round tie in Nairobi two weeks ago and need at least a draw to advance to the second round of the competition.
And Mapeza, who dropped veterans including skipper Daniel Vheremu and Obrey Chirwa for the trip to Kenya, says his charges applied themselves very well in the first leg and that he would be spoilt for choice as he juggles to come up with the final team.
“There is stiff competition,” he said. “Everyone is working very hard and wants to play. No one wants to be left out.
“The challenge we may face is on choosing who should play on the day. We have no injuries to worry about.
“Even in the first leg we had no injuries but if you take into consideration that we are coming from pre-season you will understand about the issues of match fitness.
“The guys we took to Kenya are the ones we thought had better fitness levels.”
Mapeza also warned his players against complacency saying Sofapaka were a good team despite that they beat them at home.
FC Platinum secured a crucial victory through goals from Brian Muzondiwa and Donald Ngoma while Fiston Abdoul reduced the arrears for the hosts.
“Of course, we won that match but I tell you it was not an easy game,” said Mapeza.
“Sofapaka are a very good side and I am sure if they had converted the chances that we gave them in that match the story could have been different. We should be speaking of a different story now.”Advertisement
