Mapeza unfazed by title near-miss

FC PLATINUM coach Norman Mapeza says he is not a bitter man despite narrowly missing out on the PSL title.
The platinum miners thumped Tsholotsho 3-0, away at Luveve Stadium on Saturday but, still came short to claim a maiden league title.
The emphatic win was not enough, to topple eventual champions Caps United, who led them by two points.
With their last two matches being similarly convincing 3-0 wins, while Caps’ were 1-0 victories, Mapeza could be a hurt man.
But he says he is not a wounded lion, although he has already set sights for next season.
“Going into the last match of the season, the pressure was not on us but, Caps United. It was theirs to lose and not us,” Mapeza said.
“Of course we wanted to finish on top but, that could not happen. We are not bitter about it but ,we will try again next season. As a club we are improving each season and next season could be our year who knows? We just have to build on what we worked on this season.”
FC Platinum also finished as runners-up in the 2011 season which was their maiden top flight-league term.Advertisement
