CAPS United have appointed veteran defender Method Mwanjali as their captain for the 2016 season.
Mwanjali assumes the armband from Moses Muchenje who is now his first vice-captain.
Centre back Stephen Makatuka is the second vice-skipper.
Coach Lloyd Chitembwe said they Mwanjali is a natural leader and his experience will also be instrumental in motivating his teammates.
“There is no doubt that Method is a very experienced player. He is someone whom young players look up to him for inspiration on the pitch,” Chitembwe said.
“This is a responsibility that Method can executive very well. Moses understood everything when I gave the armband to Method and they will work together. There will always be respect between the two and I believe they will help in uniting the team.”
Mwanjali has been handed captaincy for most clubs he has played for in his career as well as the Warriors.
He captained Caps United before he left for South Africa where he also wore the armband at Mamelodi Sundowns.Advertisement
