Mkhalele: New Pirates signing Ndoro offers more than goals

ORLANDO Pirates and Bafana Bafana legend Helman ‘Midnight Express’ Mkhalele believes newly signed Bucs striker Tendai Ndoro will thrive in Mayfair.
The Zimbabwean forward – who had been on the Soweto giants’ radar for a while – was last week unveiled by Pirates after completing his move from Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Mkhalele tells that Ndoro’s arrival would have a positive effect on the club’s strikers as they will all have to work extra hard to win a spot on coach  Eric Tinkler’s team.
“I am pleased with him joining Pirates because I have watched him play and I think it was a wise move to bring him to the club,” Mkhalele says.
“You can see that the decision was a well-informed one because he is also an international player and this is important when you consider that Pirates are competing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
“Ndoro offers more than goals and I think he will thrive at a big club like Pirates,” adds the former Bafana midfielder.
Ndoro will be competing with the likes of Lehlohonolo Majoro and Kermit Erasmus – who were Tinkler’s preferred forwards last season – while Thamsanqa Gabuza’s recent scoring form for Bafana cannot be ignored either.
Mkhalele hopes that the competition for starting places will put the Bucs attack among the most potent in the topflight.
“This is the kind of depth that is needed at a big club like Pirates. The strikers know that they will have to step it up because Ndoro has a decent record.
“I hope that the fans will rally behind him and give him a chance to help put the club at the top of South African domestic football this season.”Advertisement
