Mtukudzi in UK for Leicester, Luton shows

ZIMBABWE’S music superstar Oliver Mtukudzi and his Black Spirits band arrived in the UK last Saturday ahead of this weekend’s tour with Alick Macheso.
Responding to demands by his multitude of fans, Tuku has brought a full strength Black Spirits line up with female vocalists and dancers ready to deliver the old master class performances synonymous with any Oliver Mtukudzi event.
Last weekend, Oliver Mtukudzi & The Black Spirits band raised Zimbabwe’s flag when they participated at the world-renowned WOMAD music festival for the first time with other internationally acclaimed musicians.
Oliver Mtukudzi, is arguably the most successful Zimbabwean artist worldwide.
He recorded his debut single in 1975 and, to this day 61 albums on, Mtukudzi has written and performed some of the most heart-warming music against hatred and violence.
Amongst numerous awards and recognitions, Tuku is UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Eastern and Southern Africa. He is also a crowd-puller and his shows are never disappointing.
For his part, Alick Macheso came onto the music scene in 1998.
He is well known throughout all of Africa as one of the most successful African singers and ranked among the best bass guitarists on the continent.
Macheso is Zimbabwe’s best-ever selling artiste with his album Simbaradzo being the highest ever sold album in Zimbabwe, a record which is yet to be broken by any artiste in the country to date.
Macheso is arguably the best sungura artiste ever to emerge from Zimbabwe.
This Friday, Oliver Mtukudzi, and Macheso have their first date with an ever loyal Zimbabwean audience at Luton Dunstable Leisure Centre.
The “SUPERSTARS UK TOUR” concludes in Leicester at the worlclass Athena venue on Saturday 2nd August 2014.
Tuku and Macheso is a tried and tested combination in the United Kingdom with an impeccable track record and has never disappointed.
The event is being organised by PHAB entertainment who are advising fans to buy their advance tickets on time to avoid inconveniences. The two venues are quite big with capacities of 3000 each and offer a relaxed atmosphere.
