DYNAMOS president Keni Mubaiwa has appealed to Dynamos supporters to behave as they host Highlanders in the Battle of Zimbabwe at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday.
The Dynamos boss was a target of baying supporters who denounced him following the team’s recent defeat at home to FC Platinum.
Violence broke out after the match with restless supporters smashing the windscreen of Webster Chikengezha’s car during the skirmishes.
Supporters were also involved in running battles with the police who however managed to disperse the rowdy crowd.
This followed Dynamos’ dismal start to the campaign which has seen them winning just two matches in seven starts.
And as Lloyd Mutasa’s men prepare for the showdown against Highlanders, Mubaiwa said violence whether verbal or physical has no place in football.
“We appeal to our supporters to shun violence. Violence whether verbal or physical has no place in the beautiful game of football,” said Mubaiwa.
“We all know the team is going through a bad patch but it does not give people the licence to throw stones at anyone.
“We need to come in our big numbers and support the team against Highlanders. We know Dynamos will rise up again and challenge for honours.”
Dynamos gave Mutasa five games to prove he is worth to lead Dynamos for the remainder of the season.
The coach will be desperate to collect maximum points against Bosso after winning against Tsholotsho in the previous match. He is aware that victory over the old enemy will help shape his future.
Dynamos go into the match with a proud record of having not lost to Highlanders since 2006.
And Mutasa knows a defeat will be hard to accept by the fans who have got used to pummel their opponents in every encounter.
