Mugeyi: My focal point is to sharpen AmaZulu’s finishing

SOUTH African premiership side AmaZulu’s caretaker coach William Mugeyi is looking to make good use of the international break by working on Usuthu’s weaknesses.
The KwaZulu-Natal side are rooted at the bottom of the PSL standings at the moment, without a single victory this season, and Mugeyi is hoping to turn things around in no time.
“I have hope that we’ll turn the corner because we’re not playing badly, it’s just that luck has deserted us,” Mugeyi told his club’s official website.
The former Zimbabwe international also emphasized the need to improve their finishing in front of goal, as his troops have missed a lot of opportunities thus far.
“Look we did well especially against Kaizer Chiefs and we needed to convert our chances, but we couldn’t. So, my focal point is to sharpen our finishing during this international break,” he said.
AmaZulu have been nothing but poor in front of goal, with only five goals in their 10 Absa Premiership matches since the start of the current campaign.
“We played against our Vodacom side in a friendly and that gave us an idea of how far and how much help we need,” he added.
“We’ll also play against Golden Arrows because it’s a concern to play good football, create chances but fail to score and end up losing the match,” he continued.
“However, I’m confident we’ll turn the corner and improve our situation,” he concluded.
Usuthu’s next league match is against the 2014 Telkom KnockOut Cup finalists, Platinum Stars, on Saturday, 22nd of November 2014.
