Mukanya arrives for UK Bank Holiday shows Ready to rock your world … Mukanya at London’s Heathrow airport on Thursday

THOMAS ‘Mukanya’ Mapfumo and Enock ‘Nox’ Guni are set to share the stage for the first time as they rock their UK fans over this May Bank Holiday.
The shows – set for London, Leicester, Chester and Slough – and dubbed “The Explosion of Two Generations” have been designed to attract both the new and older generations of music lovers.
Dynamos Legend Memory Mucherahohwa, the spokeperson for the promoters said: “Nox mostly appeals to the younger female generation while ‘Mukanya’ appeals mostly to the older generation. So this weekend both the older and new generation will have the opportunity to appreciate Zimbabwe’s finest seasoned and new artists.”
According to Mucherahohwa, there has been such a huge buzz about the Show that the Promoters have had to book 2,500 capacity venue for the London Show.
The Coronet venue in Elephant & Castle was also used about two months ago for the Oliver Mutukudzi and Thomas Mapfumo’s history tour. The same promoters also successfully hosted Thomas Mapfumo and Oliver Mtukudzi last summer at Marlow Rugby club for family day outs.
US-based Mapfumo jetted into the UK on Thursday with Nox who is based in South Africa-based ‘Nox’ also expected on the same day.
“This is an opportunity not to be missed as history will be made,” said artist ‘Nox’ as he promised fans an explosive show when he performs alongside legend Dr Thomas Mapfumo and the Blacks Unlimited band.
Mukanya will be launching yet another new album at all the three shows he will perform in London, Leicester and Chester.
Mapfumo will perform at two night gigs and one family day out show whilst the energetic Nox will perform at two night gigs and two family Day Out shows. There will also be guest performances from Shanky and Lyfe Martinez in London and African Child in Leicester.
