By Staff Reporter

Buhera: A Murambinda man was slapped to death by a colleague he had accused of having an extra marital affair with a married woman.

Police confirmed the incident, saying the suspect, Takesure Urayayi of Ngudu village under Chief Nyasha handed himself over to police after the bizarre incident.

Manicaland province deputy police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Luxon Chananda said the now deceased Lucky Taonezvi died a few seconds later after he was slapped by Urayayi.

Chananda said before the incident, Urayayi and his friend Moses Kwarimba were partaking beer at Murambinda Growth Point.

At around 1830 hours on the fateful day this past week, Urayayi and Kwarimba decided to go home.

They took their bicycles but whilst on their way home, they met Taonezvi who was in the company of the latter’s friend Joseph Kuwanda.

Taonezvi approached Urayayi and accused him of having an extra marital affair with a married woman.

This did not go down well with Urayayi who failed to control his temper and slapped Taonezvi hard on his face once.

The now deceased fell onto the ground unconscious. He reportedly died a few moments later.

The matter was reported to police by Kuwanda but the suspect had already turned himself to the law enforcement agents.

The deceased body was ferried to Murambinda hospital for post mortem.

The police spokesperson urged members of the public to amicably resolve their disputes without engaging in violent activities.

“Member public to desist from solving their misunderstanding through violence. They should learn to solve their disputes peacefully to avoid loss of life,” said Chanada.
