ZIMBABWE hitman Nyasha Mushekwi netted a brace on Wednesday in Djurgardens’ 3-1 win over Falkenberg to shoot to the top goal scorers’ chart.
He took his tally to five goals in six matches which lifted him to the top goal scorer’s chart which he now shares with Norway striker Jo Inge Berget who plays for log leaders Malmo.
Last Sunday Mushekwi scored his third goal in the Swedish league as Djurgardens IF took a comfortable 2-0 win over GIF Sundsvall.
The 27-year-old striker, on loan to the Swedish side from South African Premiership giants Mamelodi Sundowns, has become an instant hit in Sweden.
If he continues like this he could win the Golden Boot Award at the end of the campaign.
The midweek result lifted Djurgardens to fifth position on the log standings with ten points after six matches of the campaign.
The former Caps United striker had appeared to give up on his career after sustaining a serious injury while on loan at Belgian side KV Oostende on February 15 last year.
He had not kicked a soccer ball since then as he struggled to recover from the injury and was once spotted at Walter Magaya’s Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries services in Harare seeking divine intervention to rescue his career.
But now everything appears to be falling in place for the Zimbabwean as he settles in the Swedish league.
