ZIMBABWE international striker Nyasha Mushekwi has done more than enough to impress Belgian Jupiler side KV Oostende after they offered the Mamelodi Sundowns striker a four-year contract.
The former CAPS United striker was offered a four year contract on Friday after hitting the ground running in Belgium by scoring in the club’s 3-0 victory over Eendracht a day after arriving in the country.
He was also on target twice more during the game but his efforts were disallowed after the referee ruled that he had used far too much physical strength to gain an advantage.
“But that’s just Nyasha’s way,” Ralph Nkomo who represents the player, said. “His mere physical presence is intimidating and he uses his strength to bulldoze his way past defenders which allows
him space to score. His physique and natural talent did not go unnoticed by the club who are clearly impressed.”
Mushekwi was on target again on Wednesday last week when the club won 1-0 and that about sealed his transfer as the club contacted his manager and notified him they intended signing the player, allegedly tabling a four year contract which Nkomo said would be weighed up by all parties concerned.
“Yes I can confirm that the player has done more than enough to be offered a contract,” confirmed Nkomo. “But at this stage negotiations are ongoing between the two clubs and at some stage we will discuss the player’s personal terms and we would see how it goes.”
And if negotiations proceed smoothly as expected, Mushekwi will join compatriots Ovidy Karuru, Honour Gombani, Cephas Chimedza and Vusa Nyoni who are playing their trade for different clubs in Belgium.Advertisement
