Mutasa downplays championship hopes

DESPITE being three points behind leaders Dynamos in fourth spot, FC Platinum coach Lloyd Mutasa rates his side’s chances of claiming the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title as “slim”.
The platinum miners have been touted as outside rankers who could shock, if they were to overtake the leading pack to the crown.
But Mutasa has refused to mention his side in the same breath as leaders Dynamos, second-placed Highlanders, and Harare City, who are just above them.
“The chance is still there, but very slim. The teams on top of us are at an advantage because they can make things happen for themselves, while we have to wait for them to falter,” Mutasa said.
“We might win all our remaining four games, but if those teams win all their matches as well, then there is nothing for us. Of course I am convinced that I have a team that can bring glory, but it is hard at this stage.
“Now we just need to collect maximum points so that we finish the season in a respectable position.”
FC Platinum travel to Bulawayo for a date with tricky Chicken Inn on Sunday.
They will be missing the injured duo of Ray Sibanda and Zambian Frank Mlambo.Advertisement
