YOUNG Warriors captain Wisdom Mutasa – son of Dynamos legend Lloyd Mutasa – scored the only goal that helped Zimbabwe beat fancied Cameroon in an All-Africa Games second round, first leg tie at Rufaro on Sunday.
Mutasa – who captained the team for the first time – led by example, finishing off a cross from Dynamos right back Blessing Moyo with a simple tap-in on 22 minutes.
The match was watched by a small crowd that included sports minister Andrew Langa.
Coach Callisto Pasuwa had called up several players who failed to join camp because the match falls outside the Fifa calendar for international matches.
He had also called up some players from Highlanders such as striker Thomas Chidewu and Nqobizitha Masuku who were withdrawn on the eve of the game to play in the league against ZPC Kariba on Saturday.
Still Pasuwa’s charges emerged victorious.
