WARRIORS forward Roderick Mutuma has already set sight on winning the 2016 Chan after helping Zimbabwe to a 1-1 draw away in Lesotho on Sunday.
That result saw that saw the Warriors sailing through to the tournament finals on a 4-2 aggregate score-line.
Mutuma struck in Maseru to secure a draw for Zimbabwe after having also scored a brace in the first leg played in Bulawayo.
Having returned to the national team fold after two years, Sunday’s goal was Mutuma’s third in two games.
“My job is to score goals and that’s what I am employed to do. So I have to score goals to remain in this job and I am happy for the team and for myself also,” Mutuma said.
“But as a team we should not relax. We need to put more effort when we go to Rwanda so that we win the tournament.
“Although I feel we could have won, I think the draw was fine because we managed to qualify.
“It was an important result for us especially considering that we were playing away from home. You can see everyone is excited by the achievement.
“We are happy for the team, we are happy for the nation. We are now looking forward to the finals in Rwanda.”
Zimbabwe would be making a record fourth straight appearance at next year’s Chan tournament to be hosted by Rwanda.Advertisement
