HWANGE coach Nation Dube will be in charge of the national under 23 football team for the two-week Africa Games jamboree in Congo next month.
Dube replaces Kalisto Pasuwa who has quit the team after failing to agree terms with Zifa over $10,000 owed to him by the national association.
Pasuwa’s last game was against South Africa in an Olympic qualifier in Pietermaritzburg on Saturday where the Young Warriors were crushed 3-0 to bow out 4-1 on aggregate.
Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela confirmed Tuesday that Dube will be in charge.
“Yes, he will be in charge, but the Sports Commission is in charge of Team Zimbabwe and will have finer details of their training camp,” he said.
The games will take place from September 4-19.
The Young Warriors qualified for the games after knocking out Cameroon 2-1 on aggregate.
The SRC had also indicated that Pasuwa was not part of their delegation as he is expected to take charge of the Warriors for an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea on September 4 at Rufaro Stadium.Advertisement
