NGEZI Platinum’s coach has described Saturday’s Chibuku Super Cup triumph as “extraordinary” and credited his players for the historic win.
A convincing 3-1 win over FC Platinum, saw Ngezi Platinum making history by winning their first ever top-flight football silverware in their debut PSL season.
Defender Liberty Chakoroma, grabbed a brace while Kelvin Bulaji scored another to hand Ngezi Platinum victory, while Gerald Takwara was on target for FC Platinum.
The victory was also the first time ever for Tonderayi Ndiraya, to claim a piece of silverware as head coach of a PSL club.
It was time to atone for last season’s near-miss, where Ndiraya was a losing finalist of this Cup with Dynamos after losing to Harare City.
Now he has got it right with Ngezi Platinum whom joined in June and also changed their league fortunes.
“Our dream has come true because this is what we have always wanted to win the Chibuku Cup and play in Africa. This is extraordinary especially winning by a two-goal margin in a final and I am happy for my boys,” Ndiraya said.
“Well done to them they deserved this because they gave it their best shot. As for me I am also happy because it is my first time as a head coach to win a Cup. It is also good to see our fans happy. This is for them and now we just hope for our club bosses to allow us to play in Africa.”
Ngezi Platinum will play in next year’s Caf Confederations Cup.
