Ngezi in fine start as the platinum miners draw in Mauritius

NGEZI Platinum secured an important away goal after holding Pamplemousse to a 1-1 draw in the Caf Confederation Cup away to Mauritius on Sunday.
The Platinum Miners won the right to represent Zimbabwe in Africa’s second tier competition after winning the Chibuku Super Cup last season.
And they represented the country with distinction with gangling defender, Liberty Chakoroma, finding the target early in the first half.
However a loss in concentration saw the home team clawing back into the match to draw level. But Tonderai Ndiraya and his men will feel proud of their application which earned them a crucial away goal.
The result means if Ngezi avoid a scoring draw in the return leg at home, they will progress to the first round of the competition while an outright win will also put them through.
Earlier on Saturday, Caps United held Lioli of Lesotho to a 0-0 draw but will now need to work hard to beat their opponents in the return leg in Harare in a fort night.Advertisement
