Nyasha Mushekwi scored his fourth brace in the 2018 Chinese Super League campaign as Dalian Yifang thrashed Jiangsu Suning 3-1.
After firing blanks against Guangzhou Evergrande last Saturday, the former Mamelodi Sundowns talisman rediscovered his goalscoring touch at the Jinzhou Stadium with a goal in each half of the encounter.
Mushekwi levelled matters for Dalian Yifang in the 37th minute after Gabriel Paletta had given the visitors the lead in the fourth minute.
Yannick Carrasco put the hosts ahead in the 68th minute before the Zimbabwean star sealed his double and maximum points six minutes before the end of the encounter.
Unfortunately, Mushekwi will miss the Warriors’ 2019 Africa Cup of Nations double-header qualification match against DR Congo on October 13 and 16 after being excluded from the 23-man squad due to a mysterious condition that affects his groin area and a dispute with the country’s FA.
The 31-year-old has scored 14 goals in 17 league outings this term and will hope to maintain his impressive goalscoring form after the international break when his side visit Guizhou Zhicheng on October 20.
Dalian Yifang occupy the ninth spot in the Chinese Super League with 32 points from 25 games.
