DYNAMOS coach Callisto Pasuwa feels their Caf Champions League failure will push them for success this season.
The Harare giants fell down to Congolese giants AS Vita on Sunday to bow out of the Champions League in the first round.
It was the fourth year running for Dynamos to fail to reach the group stages of the Champions League.
“We have to play in the Champions League again next season. The fact that we have to play in the group stages will push us to win the league title this season and qualify for the Champions League again,” Pasuwa said.
Dynamos failed to win on foreign soil for a 10th consecutive time.
The Vita loss was preceded by a turbulent week highlighted by a two-day strike by players who were protesting against unpaid winning bonuses.
“We did not train for two days and that contributed to the defeat in DRC. But we should not hide behind that as an excuse. We also had our weaknesses especially failing to convert numerous chances we created,” Pasuwa said.
Pasuwa had Simba Sithole as the only striker in DRC with Patrick Khumbula and Washington Pakamisa injured.Advertisement
