WARRIORS coach Kalisto Pasuwa has drafted in Caps United defender Hardlife Zvirekwi after he apologised for joining national team camp late last week.
Zvirekwi was subsequently expelled for coming late along with team mate Justice Jangano and Dynamos midfielder Ronald Chitiyo.
The Warriors who were preparing for the 2016 African Nations Championships (Chan) first leg final qualifier against Lesotho went on to win the match 3-1 at Barbourfields on Sunday without the trio.
Roderick Mutuma scored a brace with skipper Danny “Deco” Phiri weighing in with the other goal which put the Warriors one foot into the finals in Rwanda which will be their fourth consecutive finals.
The tournament is designed exclusively for home-based players.
But Zvirekwi has apologised to Pasuwa for his actions and has been recalled for the return leg.
“I have recalled Zvirekwi for the return leg in Maseru after he apologised. He wrote two letters apologising for his actions. He showed remorse and I decided to give him another chance,” said Pasuwa.
The Warriors gaffer however, said he would only consider Jangano and Chitiyo after the match against Lesotho provided they improve in terms of discipline.
“I will have to see if they improve in terms of discipline. But I can only consider them after the match against Lesotho. That means they won’t take part again for the return leg,” said Pasuwa.
The Warriors have remained in camp in Bulawayo ahead of the return leg
set for this weekend.Advertisement
