CAPS United leftback Ronald Pfumbidzai finally joined camp on Thursday as the Young Warriors intensify their preparations for the crucial second leg of the African Championships qualifier against Swaziland on Sunday.
Pfumbidzai missed the first leg tie in Harare last Sunday which ended in a 0-0 stalemate as he was undergoing trials in Denmark where he has been on trials with Hobro IK.
However, Mamelodi Sundowns forward Kuda Mahachi has once again been ruled out because of family commitments.
Team manager Shariff Mussa confirmed the latest developments.
“Ronald arrived this morning from Denmark and has joined others at training but Kuda Mahachi is no longer coming so he is out again for this match.
“We also have two Harare City players Tino Kadewera and Munyaradzi Nyenye who have been withdrawn by their club,” said Mussa.
Harare City play their league match against Chapungu on Friday afternoon.
Warriors coach Kalisto Pasuwa has the Dynamos pair of Blessing Moyo and goalkeeper Tatenda Mukuruva who joined camp after missing the first leg.
Hwange’ Pritchard Mpelele and FC Platinum’s Marshall Mudehwe who also missed the first leg while in South Africa for the COSAFA tournament are also camp.
Should Zimbabwe beat Swaziland they will face South Africa in the final qualifying round.
Winners from that encounter will booking a ticket to the finals in Senegal, from which the top-three finishers at that tournament will automatically qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games to be held in Brazil.
The fourth-placed team will engage a team from the Asian Football Confederation in a play-off.Advertisement
