THE 2015 PSL campaign will take a break from 8 to 26 June to accommodate Afcon and Chan qualifiers.
Zimbabwe visit Malawi for the 2017 Afcon qualifiers Group L assignment on 13 June before taking on Comoros Islands seven days later for the first round of the bid to qualify for next year’s Chan tournament.
“The Castle Lager PSL programme will be suspended from 08-26 June 2015 to allow for a number of international calendar match fixtures,” the PSL said in a statement.
“The league matches will resume on the weekend of 27 and 28 June 2015. We take this opportunity to wish our national teams the best of luck in the forthcoming matches.”
Warriors coach Kalisto Pasuwa has in recent months complained to Zifa and PSL about clubs refusing to release players for national duty due to league commitments.
This saw Zimbabwe sending a weak side to the Cosafa Cup where they failed to reach the quarter final stage.
But Pasuwa however, managed to book a ticket at the All-Africa Games and African Under-23 Championship final qualifying stage while using a depleted squad as PSL clubs held on to their players.
