PSL elections have been postponed from February 23 to March 9 to allow the league time to amend its constitution.
The PSL will now meet on the initial election date to align its constitution with Zifa’s before the 9 March elections.
Zifa recently adopted a new charter which now calls for all its affiliates to move in line with.
Zifa legal advisor Ralph Maganga confirmed the postponement.
“The PSL will have to meet on 23 February to deliberate on their constitution and have to align with Zifa’s since they are an affiliate. It is a process which we expect to go smoothly,” Magannga said.
Incumbent PSL president Twine Phiri is yet to declare interest to stand for another term.
But Dynamos chairman Kenny Mubaiwa has already thrown his name for contention while his Highlanders counterpart Peter Dube says he is yet to decide to contest.
All 16 PSL clubs are the electorate and the nomination opened on 23 January.Advertisement
