RETURNING Caps United forward Roderick Mutuma could appear in Sunday’s league hosting of Flame Lily at the National Sports Stadium.
The lanky striker spent three weeks away from the club after quitting because of financial problems, that also saw defenders Stephen Makatuka and Dominic Mukandi also jumping ship but rejoined as well.
Mutuma began training with Caps last week while Makatuka and Mukandi featured in last Sunday’s 1-0 away at Tsholotsho.
Caps United coach Mark Harrison hinted at including Mutuma in the squad to face Flame Lily.
“We have to see his shape at the end of the week if he can play or not. He was away for three weeks remember and he could not just come back and march into the team before his fitness level is up there with the others,” Harrison said.
“He had been doing well at training though. He could play on Sunday, he might not. We will have to keep on monitoring him.
“But Roddy’s return is a big boost for us because we now have many options upfront. I hope he just picks up from where he left off from.”
Caps host Flame Lily on the backdrop of a two-match winning streak.
They face Flame Lily who begin life without sacked coach Nesbert Saruchera following last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to basement side Dongo Sawmill.
