TAFADZWA Rusike has agreed terms with champions Dynamos and will be registered for their Caf Champions League campaign.
This follows protracted negotiation between the players’ representative and Dynamos who started tracking him during the July 2013 transfer window.
Rusike has been a free agent since June after being released by South African side Ajax Cape Town but trained with Dynamos or a few weeks earlier in the year.
Dynamos secretary-general Webster Chikengezha met with Rusike’s manager Edzai Kasinauyo on Monday and agreed terms.
He was expected to pen a one-year contract late Tuesday.
“We have finished discussions with Rusike and his handler and we are almost done. He has agreed terms with us and only left with signing a contract. As you might know he has been in the coach’s plans for a while now,” Chikengezha said.
“He is a respected international player whom we believe will add value to the team. We trust the coach made the right decision in recommending him. We would like to go far in the Champions League and these are the kind of player we need.”
Rusike’s deal has been delayed by the player’s high wage demands from cash-strapped Dynamos.
Former Triangle midfielder Walter Mukanga, ex-Monomotapa winger Ronald Chitiyo and defender Themba Ndlovu are so far new Dynamos acquisitions.Advertisement
