School owner in court for threatening to shoot doctor over school noise

Marondera: A private school owner here, has appeared before a local magistrate facing charges of threatening to shoot a medical doctor, over noise made by pupils at his school.

The court heard that the school owner, Richmore Chikowore, 35, threatened to assault and shoot Tendai Chimbganda, 55 early this month.

Accoding to prosecutor, Zvikomborero Chidavaenzi, Chimbganda, a medical practitioner in the town and a neighbour to Chikowore’s Beautiful Beginners School, approached Chikowore to raise complaints over the noise made by children attending the school.

However, this complaint did not go well with Chikowore who in a fit of rage drew his gun and threatened to assault and shoot the doctor.

Chimbganda did not take the threats lightly and reported Chikowore to the police leading to his arrest.

Magistrate Rumbidzai Munemo, presided over the matter before she granted Chikowore bail and postponed the matter to next month.

Meanwhile, a Seke man has been arrested after he killed his uncle who was demanding his share from the RTGS$50 the pair had realised after selling firewood.

According to the police, Austin Chirimamhunga, 21, struck his uncle, Munyaradzi Chirimamhunga once on the head after the now deceased had requested for his share of proceeds from the firewood the two had sold.

Munyaradzi fell down and lost consciousness before he was rushed to Chitungwiza Hospital where he died the next day leading to the accused’s arrest.
