SHABANIE Mine woes have worsened following the departure of striker Tarisai Rukanda to fierce town rivals FC Platinum.
Rukanda is reported to have signed a one-year contract at Mandava Stadium.
Several players want out of Shabanie with midfielder-cum-striker Pervington Zimunya close to joining Harare City.
Coach Luke Masomere who expressed keenness to quit last week admitted that Buffaloes have contacted him.
Having snapped Rukanda, FC Platinum are also not keen to renew newly-capped Warriors midfielder Frankson Bushire.
FC Platinum spokesperson Chido Chizondo could not shed more light on Rukanda’s move.
“We have just opened talks with Shabanie Mine on Rukanda but nothing concrete has come out so far. Yes we are interested in him but we are still in discussion,” Chizondo said.
But sources at the platinum miners confirmed that a deal was sealed earlier in the week.
“As you know we have been chasing Tarisai for a while now and he had also expressed interest to be with us. He is now our players and everything was concluded this week and he signed for us,” said one source.
Rukanda is expected to partner Nelson Mazivisa whom he helped win the 2012 Golden Boot award while they were both at Shabanie.Advertisement
