TROUBLED Dynamos finally remembered how to win after they laboured to a 2-1 victory over newly promoted Mutare City in a Castle Lager Premiership tie at Sakubva Stadium on Sunday.
Dynamos have endured a difficult start to the season in which they had not managed a win in five competitive matches including cup games.
Crucially, they had not scored a goal in those matches but on Sunday they got it right with Kudzanai Nyakasaka thrusting them in the lead on six minutes before Rodreck Mutuma, who came in as second half substitute, doubled the lead.
The win came as a relief for Portuguese coach Jorge Paulo Silva who is sitting on a three match ultimatum.
The Portuguese gaffer was given a target of collecting nine points from three matches starting with the encounter against Mutare City. Up next is the big Harare derby against Caps United next weekend before another tough trip to the Colliery to face Hwange.
Had he lost or drawn in Mutare, Silvawould have been shown the door together with his entire backroom staff that included Lloyd Mutasa, goalkeeper’s coach Gift Muzadzi and team manager Richard Chihoro.
But with that victory, it means he has survived to live another day.Advertisement
