SILAS Songani has sealed a two and half year move to Danish Superliga side Sonderjyske.
After just a week on trials, the 24-year-old joined Sonderjyske on Monday as a free agent from Harare City where he had been for the past two seasons.
His manager More Moyo flew to Denmark over the weekend to complete the deal.
He was invited for trials at the recommendation of former Warriors coach Klaus-Dieter Pagels who had links with the clubs.
He becomes the second Zimbabwean player to turn out for the Danish side after Quincy Antipas spent two seasons with the club before switching to giants Brondby.
Harare City coach Bigboy Mawiwi said it was not surprising for Songani to break into Europe.
“It was always coming. Silas is a player you could see was destined for big things,” said Mawiwi.
“I am happy for him and I know he will succeed in Europe. He is a player who will go far given his discipline on and off the pitch. We will miss him here but he has to move on for the best of his career.”
Sonderjyske are struggling in Superliga where they anchor the log standings and Songani would be involved in the fight for relegation.
Songani grew up at the Aces Academy together with Knowledge Musona, Khama Billiat and Lincoln Zvasiya.Advertisement
