FORMER Warriors and Dynamos coach Sunday Chidzambwa upped speculation that he is joining ZPC Kariba, after watching the club’s home match against Dynamos at Nyamhunga Stadium while in the company of the former’s officials.
ZPC Kariba have no substantive coach after partying ways with Saul Chaminuka last month, when rumours that Chidzambwa is headed to Kariba immediately started flying around.
Interim coach Oliver Matava has taken charge of four games so far.
Chidzambwa is almost certain to join ZPC after he arrived at Nyamhunga Stadium in the car of a senior official of the club before joining others in the VIP enclosure.
The coach however denied that he would be joining ZPC Kariba.
“I am here just to watch this match as a football person and I will not be joining ZPC Kariba. I know some rumours have been doing rounds but I am not talking to this club,” Chidzambwa said.
“Yes, as a coach, I would like to be involved with any club in Zimbabwe but no club has ever approached me. I am jobless. Football is my life but there is nothing at the moment.”
Chidzambwa was recently cleared by Zifa on his alleged role in the Asiagate match-fixing scandal.
He was last involved with Black Leopards in South Africa.
The former Warriors captain is arguably the most successful coach in Zimbabwe after helping Dynamos to reach the final of the 1998 Caf Champions League before guiding Zimbabwe to their maiden Afcon appearance in 2004.Advertisement
