SOUTH Africa: Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says it is fitting for Khama Billiat to leave the club as an Absa Premiership champion.
Mosimane has praised the contribution of Billiat in his tenure with the Brazilians, which looks to be coming to a close at the five-year mark.
The Zimbabwean attacker is reportedly in the sights of Azerbaijani outfit Qarabag, the former team of Bafana Bafana international Dino Ndlovu.
Mosimane has seemingly accepted Billiat, whose contract with the club expires in June, is on his way out at Chloorkop.
“It’s for players like Khama to win his last championship with us,” said ‘Jingles’.
“Giving him a good farewell… five years with us. He has done exceptionally well with us.
“We have to accept that he has to move on and he has been good. He has contributed.
“That’s the best way for Khama to leave … to leave on a high note,” concluded Mosimane fresh off delivering a third league title to the Brazilians on the weekend.
Billiat won the league thrice with Downs, the CAF Champions League, the CAF Super Cup, the Nedbank Cup and the Telkom Knockout following his arrival from Ajax Cape Town in 2013.
